Hosted in Whistler's most spectacular properties, acclaimed chef's partner with wineries and beverage producers in a multi-course extravaganza, prepared carefully in the home's kitchen. Each luncheon's secret location is revealed as attendees are transported by shuttle directly to the Chef’s Table.


At our restaurant, we specialize in contemporary Japanese food, including Aburi Sushi as well as modern takes on Japanese appetizers, entrées, and dessert. 
The Chef's Luncheon event is a chance for our talented chefs to use all their creativity to come up with beautiful seasonal dishes with local ingredients, using Japanese traditional techniques and flavours. The wine pairing format allows us to partner with a local winery to share ideas, playing off the unique characters of both the food and wine.

Alan Ferrer- Corporate Executive Chef
Alan’s passion for providing guests with an unforgettable culinary experience has driven his career from the beginning. Starting in Grade 10, Alan has been involved in the local Vancouver food culture, working with some of the top restaurants in town.

After hearing accounts of Seigo’s passion and dedication to his restaurants and his employees, Alan decided to join the team. All his experience and hard work propelled him through the ranks to his current dual position as Executive Chef of Minami and Corporate Chef for Aburi Restaurants.

A perfectionist by nature, Alan strives to achieve the perfect balance of flavour, texture, presentation, and technique in every dish. This sincere desire for excellence and passion for guest experience allows him to lead by example, encouraging his team to follow in his footsteps.


MINAMI: Located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Yaletown, Minami Restaurant delivers one of the most unique and innovative dining experiences to Vancouver. Minami follows the pioneering footsteps of sister restaurant Miku, introducing the Aburi style or flame seared technique to Vancouver’s thriving sushi scene in 2008.

From the kitchen, seasonal and regional ingredients as well as Ocean Wise seafood options are integrated into dishes to reflect the diversity of responsible food choices. Traditionally trained Japanese chefs are inspired by global flavours and cutting edge techniques to create a new style of cuisine. Japan-Euro influenced desserts created in house by our pastry team creates the perfect ending to the culinary experience.
