Some principles of biodynamic farming and winemaking -- such as the avoidance of chemicals and commercial yeasts -- are similar to those of natural and organic methods, but biodynamics goes a step further, viewing the whole winemaking farm and facility as a cohesive, interrelated living system. The approach is growing in popularity: there are now hundreds of certified biodynamic wineries around the world, including numerous top-rung French estates. DJ Kearney hosts this stand-up seminar on the basics of biodynamic vineyards and winemaking, and the wines the method produces. Seminar guests will sample a selection of biodynamic wines with international roots.
